Here is the recipe for delicious and easy Christmas cookies – french stars cookies with frosting. They are great with tea, cocoa or hot chocolate.
Ingredients:
- 200g of butter
- 200g of powdered sugar
- 200g grated hazelnuts
- teaspoon of cinnamon
- 2 egg yolks
- 350g all purpose flour
Frosting
- 100g of powdered sugar
- juice of one lemon
- 100ml of water
Optional: chopped hazelnuts for garnish
Preparation:
Mix the butter and sugar and stir in egg yolks, hazelnuts, cinnamon and flour (at the end). Knead the dough and wrap it in foil and let it rest in the refrigerator for one hour. Meanwhile you can chop the hazelnuts, which will be used for the decoration.
Roll the dough, half centimetre thin and with cookie cutter cut out the cookies. All the cookies put on tray with baking paper and bake in pre-heated oven for 10 minutes at 200 degrees.
From sugar and lemon juice prepare the frosting. In a saucepan boil water, sugar and lemon juice until sugar dissolves and the liquid begins to simmer. Remove pan from the heat and let it cool a little. With it cover the cookies.
If you want you can sprinkle hoped hazelnuts on the frosting.
